The 2010 Chicago Golf Show

It's an historical fact.
Winter will end and what better place to celebrate than at the Chicago Golf Show, which was from Friday, February 26, through Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Donald B. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont. For us it is not the end of winter but the beginning of the golf season.
We have attended the show almost every year for as long as we can remember. We don't necessarily go looking for stuff to buy, but look for products or services we feel the weekend golfer will find helpful to play better golf.
For someone looking to save some money there are promotions for free golf, free Golf Digest, and free golf lessons.
FREE Rounds of Golf
Best of all, everyone who comes to the Chicago Golf Show will receive a free round of golf at one of the dozen courses managed in the Chicago area by GolfVisions, Inc. For a list of the courses, please visit the show website at www.chicagogolfshow.com.
Wait. There's more.
Free Golf Digest Subscription
Everyone who buys a ticket for the show also can register for a free subscription to Golf Digest Magazine in their booth, No. 1222, and be eligible for hundreds of great golf prizes awarded hourly at the show.
The area's top golf teaching professionals will offer free tips and tactics throughout each day from the Golf Academy Stage, including special Celebrity Golf teaching lessons. Programming for junior golfers also will be available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Marty "Long Ball" Joyce and his daughter, Lisa "Launch It" Joyce will bring their trick shot and long driving show to the Golf Academy Stage midday on Saturday and Sunday.
Free Golf Lessons
If you want some individual help with your game, the Chicago Golf Show's popular One-one-One teaching area will return in 2010. Here, PGA teaching professionals will give you a free 15-minute lesson that will provide you with at least one tip you can use immediately to improve your golf swing.
Before or after you work on your swing, be sure to stop by the free PGA Putting Green, where PGA Teaching Pros will be available to work with you on your putting stroke.
Over the years we have made many friends and we look forward to seeing them each year at the show. Over the years there have been friends that no longer display their products. The reasons vary and this year there were several that we missed.
There were many new products on display this year but I feel the one that caught our attention was a golf grip from JumboMax grips. This is an oversized grip that really makes holding the club a whole lot more comfortable. We will have more info on these grips in our equipment section after we have had a chance to play a few rounds with them on our clubs. So check out the Equipment - Grips section a little later this spring.
